The Ministry of Commerce reported that exports of agricultural products are on the rise YoY over the 10 months of the current fiscal year (until July 31st), at USD 3.3 billion up from 2.8 billion in the corresponding period last year. Main agricultural exported products are rice and broken rice, beans and pulses, and maize, representing 22% of total exports.
The export figures of the country have consistently out-performed last fiscal year’s despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Myanmar is said to be one of the very few countries in the world to still register a growth in 2020 despite the global recession due to the crisis.
