Myanmar start-up raises finance six digit

Chate Sat raises six-digit USD funding

Freelance platform Chate Sat has raised six-digit funding in a pre-Series A round led by two Singaporean angel investors, according to a report in DealstreetAsia. The two investors were named as Willy Ballmann and Keizo Fujitake, and the company said the financing will help it to increase its resources and allow it to employ new talent. One of the firm’s founders, Honey Mya Win, was quoted as saying that the company plans to expand its operations to other countries in Southeast Asia. “I believe investing in Chate Sat presents a great opportunity to boost Myanmar’s tech startup ecosystem,” said Ballmann. “Chate Sat’s current market leading position firmly establishes the company to be the future centre and hub for Myanmar’s gig economy.” Chate Sat, which started in 2016, claims to have more than 14,000 freelancers on its platform, including web and mobile developers, designers, animators and photographers.
