Hello Communications to build train station along Yangon Circular Railway

Through a joint venture with a local firm, Hello Communications will commence its work at Thamine station as an initial test project. Kimio Shichida, chair of Hello Communications, was quoted as saying, “ We presented our plan for the Yangon Circular Railway in April for all 37 stations but received instructions that we should upgrade Thamine station first.“ Work on Thamine station will begin in 2018 upon receiving the permit and an agreement for the long term lease of the station. The station upgrade will include the construction of a new platform, train station and staff quarters. The new platform will include construction of a ticket office, entrance gate, shelters and public amenities. Mr. Shichida said the company will also be responsible for the long term maintenance of the housing after construction. It is estimated that all 37 stations will require an investment of USD 11 million.
