Inflation in June below 8 per cent, first in a year

The Central Statistical Organization (CSO) under the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry announced that inflation stood at 7.91 percent in June 2020, the first time it is below 8 per cent in a year. The last time inflation was below the 8 percent mark was in June 2019.

The annual rate of inflation, based on the Consumer Price Index, increased steadily from November and peaked at 9.2 percent in February this year following the rise of power price by the government.
