The annual rate of inflation, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), continued dropping to 5.21 per cent in October 2020 as consumer price fell in the back of sluggish consumer demand, according to the inflation report released by the Central Statistical Organization under the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry and as reported by the New Light.
At the granular level, the price index in the transport group dropped on the back of decreased imported oil price, as did food price, transport and tobacco and beverages; there was an uptick though in household goods and maintenance, other commodities, clothing, recreation, culture and non-food. The price index of education and telecommunication remained stable the report stated.
