Premium Distribution, a Yangon-based food and beverage wholesaler linked to City Mart, has reportedly acquired the organic salad brand Uni Vege, in a new joint venture agreement with Trust Venture Partners (TVP), a financial advisory firm. A local report said that Premium Distribution and TVP will acquire the hydroponic business from food tech company Provide Advanced Technology (PAT), which sells pre-prepared salads at City Mart outlets throughout the country. The companies said that the new JV will seek to build Uni Vege’s sales to business, such as hotels and restaurants, through its distribution network. Mr Shinsuke Goto, TVP chief executive officer, was quoted as saying that the partnership would allow the hydroponics business to expand, adding that they would consider fundraising in the future.
