The Ministry of Construction announced, during its fourth year performance press conference, that it is planning to build a 160 kilometers-long seaside road to connect Nga Yoke Kaung beach in Ayeyarwady region to Gwa township in Rakhine.
The project will open opportunities in hotel and resort development as well as in new industrial zones. “Plans are underway to announce this project in the newspapers. Upon completion of this project, there will be over 10,000 acres of land around the sea-side road. So we will allow hotel zone, industrial zone and resorts to be built around the sea-side road,” said Dr. Kyaw Linn, deputy minister of Construction.
“We have already made a plan for this project and also formed a committee with the Ayeyarwady regional government. The Expression of Interest (EOI) of this project will be offered in the newspapers for local and international firms,” he added.
