Singapore-based venture capital fund Seed Myanmar Ventures Limited has completed a six-digit funding round into local delivery service platform Marathon Myanmar Company Limited, according to an article in Dealstreet Asia. The article did not specify the amount, but said that Marathon Myanmar is valued in “the seven-digit dollar range”. Marathon Myanmar provides courier express services to e-commerce businesses and online shops in the country, and also handles bulk mail delivery, the article said. Its co-founder Okkar Phyo said the new investment will allow the company to build up its technology platform and become the leading parcel delivery company in the country. Okkar Phyo said that the company is continuing to look for investors for future rounds. “We would want our future investors to be aligned to our vision,” he said. “It is important for startups to have investors and partners like Seed Myanmar who believe in the founding team and the importance of technology, especially in the competitive last-mile delivery space.” Seed Myanmar was formerly known as the Vulpes Innovative Myanmar Investment Company, and its other investments in Myanmar include freelancer platform Chate Sat, search engine Bindez and logistics company Kargo.
