FDI inflows for current fiscal year top USD 2 billion, Hong Kong firms take top spot

According to DICA (Directorate of Investment and Company Administration), the total FDI inflows for current fiscal year topped USD 2 billion at USD 2.089 billion exactly.

The energy sector accounted for nearly half of the total while Hong-Kong based firms took the lead as main country of origin of these funds.

28 Hong Kong-based firms injected USD 1.15 billion in real estate development, electricity, and garment businesses as of January.

DICA has set a target of USD 6 billion in FDI inflows for the 2019-2020 financial year.
