Amidst a collapse of global oil and natural gas prices, Myanmar’s exports of natural gas over the past ten months of current fiscal year amounted to USD 2.97 billion said the latest data from the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry. It is a decrease of USD 264 million compared with the corresponding period last FY.
About 10% of the country’s total export earnings come from the sale of natural gas. There are a total of 104 blocks in Myanmar, 53 onshore and 51 offshore, yielding yearly over 600 billion cubic feet.
