According to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce, from October 1st to January 31st, or the first 4 months of the 2019-2020 fiscal year, the total trade between Myanmar and Thailand amounted to USD 1.16 billion, a decrease of USD 97.34 million against last FY (USD 1.25 billion).
Border trade included USD 773.6 million in exports and USD 382.5 million in imports. Hteekhee border gate is the main trading gate with Thailand, recording nearly half of the total trade value, at USD 555 million. In the 2017-18 FY, Thai-Myanmar trade hit USD 5 billion.
