As we’ve reported last week and this week again, Myanmar’s trade is going through a roller-coaster ride amidst the Covid-19 crisis. Border trade closures and re-openings, transit restrictions, new markets development have all impacted the smooth flow of goods, inbound or outbound.
One sector that is proving its resilience and reliability is agriculture. The agricultural exports showed a remarkable increase of USD 68.5 million over the past month in the current fiscal year.
Year-on-year, Myanmar’s exports of agricultural products soared to USD 519.48 million between October 1st and November 20th from USD 450.95 million in the corresponding period of last FY, accounting for 22% of overall exports according to the trade figures released by the Ministry of Commerce.
