The latest data released by the Ministry of Commerce shows that Myanmar’s external trade for the new fiscal year, between October 1st and November 13th, plunged by USD 1.4 billion from the corresponding period a year ago, reaching only USD 3.08 billion (versus USD 4.486 billion one year ago).
Of these USD 3.08 billion, exports represented USD 1.3 billion, dropping by approximately USD 1 billion, while import totaled USD 1.76 billion, a decrease of USD 382.3 million.
The 2020-2021 trade target is set at USD 34 billion, USD 16 billion for exports and USD 18 billion for imports.
