The Ministry of Electricity and Energy’s Electric Power Generation Enterprise signed a power purchase agreement with TTCL Power Myanmar, a subsidiary of Thailand’s TTCL Public Company Ltd, last week.
The Irrawaddy reported that TTCL plans to construct a USD 685 million, 388-megawatt, liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Yangon’s Ahlone Township. The project includes construction of a natural gas pipeline, an LNG terminal and a 230-kilovolt transmission line. The construction is expected to take more than two years with a 25-year concession.
